Michigan Legislative Consultants is comprised

establishment by Tom Cleary in 1965, the firm has invited only the

Charles Fritz Benson

Charles Fritz Benson, a Jackson native,
served as Special Assistant to the Majority Leader of the
Michigan Senate for five years before joining Michigan
Legislative Consultants in 1979. He has worked in a number of
political campaigns and coordinated the successful statewide
campaign for re-election of a Chief Justice of the Michigan
Supreme Court. A former teacher and coach who also counseled
emotionally handicapped and delinquent youth, Benson has a
degree in Criminal Justice and a Masters Degree in Education
Administration from Michigan State University.

J. Michael Busch
J. Michael Busch joined MLC in 1987 after
12 years of service as a member of the Michigan Legislature. As
House Republican Leader from 1983 through 1986, Busch played a
key role in the passage of legislation concerning finance,
health care, and economic development. He was described by the
Detroit Free Press as having earned a high measure of respect
for his diligence, his intelligence, and his willingness to try
to be a part of the solution to problems facing the
Legislature. A Saginaw native, he is a Ferris State University
graduate.

Brendan E. Ringlever

Brendan E. Ringlever has held several top legislative
posts during his more than 12 years in the Michigan
Legislature. Most recently, he served as Deputy Chief of Staff
and Legislative Director for Michigan Senate Majority Leader Ken
Sikkema, where he managed the Senates legislative activity.
During his tenure in the Legislature, Ringlever also worked on a
host of issues dealing with the environment, utilities,
education, economic development and regulatory affairs. He also
served as campaign manager for several successful legislative
campaigns. He is a graduate of Hillsdale College and currently serves as
Vice-President of the Hillsdale College Alumni Executive Board. He also serves as a legislatively appointed member of the Michigan Film
Commission, and is a member of the Michigan Children's Trust Fund Board. |

Timothy R. Ward

Timothy R. Ward joined MLC after founding and operating a law and lobbying
firm. Prior to his law firm career, he acquired over 15 years
in government service, lobbying, and campaign management. Ward
capped his government service as Governor Englers Director of
External Affairs at which time he was appointed by the Governor
to manage his 1998 re-election campaign. Prior to his service
in the Engler Administration, Ward served in staff positions in
the Michigan House and Senate as well as Oakland County
government. He also served as Senior Director of Government
Affairs of the Michigan Credit Union League. He is a graduate
of Albion College and the Michigan State University Detroit
College of Law.

As our Office Manager, Ann has been
with MLC for over 16 years. In her capacity, she fills many
roles for the firm including overseeing the day-to-day office
operations, managing the political action committees of numerous
clients, and assisting our lobbyists and clients achieve their
objectives. |
