Timothy R. Ward

Tim has over 25 years of success in government service, campaign management, and government affairs advocacy. Prior to merging his own firm with MLC he served in a variety of capacities in state and local government. He capped his government service as Governor John Engler’s Director of External Affairs at which time the Governor appointed Tim to manage his 1998 re-election campaign. Prior to his service in the Engler Administration, he served in staff positions in the Michigan House and Senate as well as Oakland County government. He also served as Senior Director of Government Affairs of the Michigan Credit Union League. In a volunteer capacity Tim also served as Vice Chairman of the Michigan Economic Growth Authority, Chairman of the State Board of Canvassers, and the Local Government Claims Review Board. He is a graduate of Albion College and Detroit College of Law (aka Michigan State University Law School). Tim and his wife Mary have a son Evan.

Brendan E. Ringlever

Brendan has over 19 years of effective legislative and lobbying experience, which includes 12 years of service to the Michigan Legislature. He has held many top legislative posts, including Deputy Chief of Staff and Legislative Director for former Michigan Senate Majority Leader Ken Sikkema. In these roles, he managed the Senate’s legislative activity, developed the daily floor agenda for the Senate and served as liaison to the Governor’s office, the Speaker’s office and the business and lobby community.   While Deputy Chief of Staff, Brendan authored Vision for the Future, a document used as a guide to being a caucus leader and establishing a caucus agenda. Brendan served as an appointed member of the Michigan Film Commission and is a past member of the Michigan Children’s Trust Fund Board. He is a graduate of Hillsdale College and for 14 years served as a member, including President, of the Hillsdale College Alumni Executive Board.  Brendan is also a guest lecturer discussing state politics and state government.  He enjoys running, golf and travel.  Brendan, his wife, Kim, and his sons, Marcus and Matthew reside in East Lansing, MI.

Cami M. Pendell

Cami worked in leadership offices in both the state Senate and Michigan House of Representatives. She has served in a legislative capacity for two Senate Majority Leaders and as Chief of Staff to a House Majority Floor Leader. Cami also served as Deputy Chief of Staff/Legislative Director for Senate Majority Leader Mike Bishop. Her thorough knowledge of the legislative process includes policy development, procedural maneuvering and negotiating bill exchanges through the Legislature. She worked in a bi-partisan, bi-cameral manner to ensure that legislative goals were achieved. Cami also has prior lobbying experience. She was the Manager of State Government Affairs and Legislative Analysis for Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan. In that role, she interacted with the Legislative and Executive branches of government on issues ranging from healthcare insurance to corporate business regulation. In addition to her legislative and lobbying background, Cami is a licensed attorney. She earned her JD from Michigan State University College of Law and served her undergraduate years at Central Michigan University.  Cami enjoys traveling throughout the United States and likes to hike or run trails when she is visiting a new location.

Cia Segerlind

Cia Segerlind, a West Michigan native, brings 5 years of legislative experience to Michigan Legislative Consultants.  She most recently served as Chief of Staff to Speaker Pro Tempore Pam Byrnes, where she staffed both the Public Employee Health Care Reform Committee and the Higher Education Subcommittee on Appropriations.  Cia has worked extensively  on issues dealing with education, agriculture, social justice, labor and economic development.  Before coming to the Michigan Legislature, Cia was Public Policy Coordinator for the Hawaii State Coalition Against Domestic Violence.  She is a graduate of Michigan State University.  In addition to her political and legislative work, Cia enjoys exploring new cultures as she travels across the globe, and splashing in the waves of Lake Michigan when she stays close to home.

Tony Des Chenes

Tony has held various positions in State government spanning over 15 years.  He most recently served as Acting Director for Purchasing Operation for the Department of Technology, Management and Budget , overseeing the implementation of over $16 billion in State contracts.  He also held the position of Director for the Commodities, IT and Services Divisions for the State Purchasing office.    Tony oversaw the State Energy Consortium program and was a member of the Community Rehabilitation Organization Set a Side Committee.   He was appointed by Governor Engler as Advisor to the State Transportation Commission, where he assisted with the development of transportation policy.   Tony has also served as Assistant to the Director and Director of Policy and Public Affairs for the Department of Management and Budget.  Tony remains active in purchasing activities as a member of the Institute for Supply Management (ISM) and as an honorary member of the National Association of State Procurement Officials (NASPO). Tony has a Bachelors of Science Degree from Central Michigan University and a Masters in Public Administration from Western Michigan University.  Tony, his wife Jami, son Eric and daughter Lauren reside in Dewitt, MI.

Ann Spagnuolo

As our Office Manager, Ann has been with MLC for over 20 years.  In her capacity, she fills many roles for the firm including overseeing the day-to-day office operations, managing the political action committees of numerous clients, and assisting our lobbyists and clients achieve their objectives.

Elizabeth Gullett

As a Legislative Assistant with MLC, Liz supports our lobbyists by overseeing the flow of legislation and issues that affect our clients, including management of the firm's legislative database.  In addition to these responsibilities she conducts both issue and legislative research.  Prior to joining MLC Liz worked for State Representative Brian Palmer.  Liz holds a Bachelor's Degree in Business from Davenport University.

Josh Robinson

Josh came to MLC after managing a successful re-election campaign for State Representative Barb Byrum and working in her office as a Legislative Assistant.  His primary duties include serving as a front line of communication between clients, staff and legislators, and serving as-needed as a support for other staff.  He graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Advertising from Michigan State University.
